Principal's Message

Hello Students and Families of MCHS,

Welcome back to the coming new school year. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Dr. Leisa Reed and I will be serving as principal at MCHS for the coming school year. I have worked at MCHS previously and enjoyed my time here greatly. I have often said that my experience serving Menifee County was a time I cherished in my career.

This will be the start of my 33rd year as an educator. A native of Owsley County, I began my career teaching on the island of Guam, then in Alaska, before returning to my Kentucky roots. I have served in Fayette County, Lee County, Montgomery County, and Boone County. I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and in many administrative roles. I have also worked for the Kentucky Department of Education, serving schools across the state.

On a personal note, I continue to live on my farm in Owsley County where I have cows, chickens and ducks, a donkey named Hazel Grace and a rather large dog named Gus. I love gardening, canning, and raising my own livestock. I love my life on the farm.

If, at any time you have questions or concerns about school you may contact me at MCHS at (606)768-8102 or via email at leisa.reed@menifee.kyschools.us. I do not have any form of social media, so if you are attempting to communicate with me via Facebook, etc., I will not receive the information. Again, an email or a call is the best way to contact me.

By partnering together toward the common goal of growing students to be contributing members of society and quality community members, we are strengthening the community in which we work and live. I look forward to working with you for the success of your student at MCHS.

All the best for a great school year,

Dr. Reed
